My husband and I have been researching our family history for a couple years now. We moved to Salt Lake City in 2000 so Boogles could attend the University of Utah School of Medicine. I hadn't applied yet to the School of Environmental Engineering, so I took advantage of the downtime and headed down to the LDS Church's Genealogy Library and on their FamilySearch website.
With the help of my father-in-law (who works across the street from the library), I spent the next 4 solid months collecting every scrap of information I could find there. I was amazed at the quantity of material they had on file from all over the world, especially from Europe, home to many of my ancestors. I was able to compile a 64-page book, all on the Lang side of my family, in just a few months.
Since that time, my Boogles and I have spent many hours trying to piece together all this information and extend the search further back. We were even brave enough to venture to North Dakota by car last summer to visit the old Lang Ranch (now known as the VVV ["three V"] Ranch.)
